David Perez Sevillian born Flamenco Dancer

The first thing I can tell you about David.... a true professional.

Not only is he an amazing dancer & teacher but he also looks for opportunities to work with young flamencos & help them develop their careers...

We think it won't be long before his international show Puntal reaches the shores of America, Australia & the UK. It's already very popular across Europe.

Bio:

David Perez was born in Alcala de Guadaira (Sevilla) where he started dancing at the age of 13.
He continued dancing with some of the legends of dance including:
  • ManoloMarin
  • Javier Cruz
  • Rafael Campallo
  • Manuel Betanzos

In 2009 he premiered his first show “Flamencos” in the framework of Jerez Flamenco Festival, which they then toured in Turkey, the Netherlands, Asia, etc. “Flamencos” was  warmly received in the theatres of Nairobi and Kuwait as well.

In 2011 he released Puntal, which he continues to tour with, both nationally and in international  festivals, such as Lille (France), Rose and Sofia (Bulgaria). He also hopes to bring it to a Tokyo audience during the next 6 months.

He shared the stage with Luisa Palicio in the show “Primer Amor” under the direction of  David Montero.  Worked as a “flamenco representative” within projects organized by Cervantes Institute for  Spanish embassies all around the world: France, the Netherlands, St.Louis, Chicago,  Mexico, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Morocco, etc.

Awards:

  • “El Desplante” in Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas 2004
  • “Jóvenes Flamencos de Andalucía" 2006

Flamenqueria:

David's own school is located not only in Triana but on the banks of the river.

Flamenqueria

He admitted to us the reason he chose that location was that he was so inspired by the beautiful view of the river.

The Flamenqueria definitely has the best view in town. David just loves coming to work.

He hosts not only dance classes but guitar workshops, cajon for flamenco, singing & even structure of dance classes.

They also have a Tablao which hosts shows almost every night.
